What does the Divide Chamber do for you?
Chamber membership has increased to over 95 active members because we work hard to create a unified business community where members plan and participate together in activities and events that benefit The Divide. During 2014/15, the DCOC strengthened partnerships with the Pilot Hill Grange, Georgetown Rotary and the Georgetown Divide Recreation District.
The Divide Chamber works with the Georgetown Gazette for the publication of the Voice of the Divide Business page that features the businesses of the Divide once a month in a center section of the paper.
With grant funds obtained from El Dorado County, the DCOC installed a community welcome sign in Cool, with a second community welcome sign subsequently installed in Georgetown. The Georgetown Rotary worked with the DCOC on planning and installation of the Georgetown sign. Signs for Greenwood, Garden Valley and Pilot Hill are underway. See photos of Cool and Georgetown welcome signs to the right.
DCOC members worked together to create the Adventure Loop promotional brochure and website for use by visitors to the area promoting Divide businesses.
DCOC participates in National Night Out, a nationwide community effort to get to know local emergency services and other participating community organizations. The event features live music, food, emergency service personnel and equipment, along with numerous informational booths.
We are blessed to extremely supportive businesses who host monthly mixers.
